Nick and Ed laid the foundation for big group, and have steered us for over 30 years. Our independence, culture, and character is thanks to their drive and vision, and their belief that seeing things differently is fundamental to delivering excellence. 

Our timeline

1991

big group ltd is founded by Nick Scott and Ed Riseman.

1992

Building big group through video production and creative flair.

1995

big group becomes a total marketing business.

1996

We onboard Mastercard, launch the MOBO Awards, and open the door to Event Management.

1999

Mastercard become headline sponsors of The BRITs.

2000

We develop the Internet Safety Programme for the UK government.

2007

big group presents Fashion Rocks at the Royal Albert Hall. 

2012

Voted a Top 50 UK Digital Agency by The Drum.

2014

big group grows, gaining SEO and multi-media assets through strategic acquisition. 

2015

Our expansion continues, and we move into content, retail and social.

2017

We expand into Europe as big group Amsterdam launches; we join The Drum Elite Register. 

2020

A new visual brand identity for the business, and a new home at The George.

2022

We become the first OutBritain LGBTQ-certified business in Europe and are voted one of the Top 25 Best Mid-sized Companies to work for.

2023

big group progresses to an Employee Owned Business, underlining our independence and putting our people first. 

2024

We grow again, expanding our presence in the Middle East with big group UAE.
